Pastor (pah-ster) n.
Pastor:
1. A Christian minister or priest having spiritual charge over a congregation or other group.
2. A layperson having spiritual charge over a person or group.
3. A shepherd.
Minister:
1. to perform the functions of a religious minister.
2. to give service, care, or aid; attend, as to wants or necessities.: to minister to the needs of the hungry.
3. to contribute, as to comfort or happiness.
4. A person serving as an agent for another by carrying out specified orders or functions.
Shepherd:
1. a person who protects, guides, or watches over a person or group of people.
2. a member of the clergy.
Servant:
1. a person employed by another, esp. to perform domestic duties.
2. a person in the service of another.
What is a pastor?
In this seedling church, we believe that a pastor is like a shepherd, someone who would die for those under her care. We also believe that Christ is the true shepherd and that the human role of pastor is to join in with the True Shepherd as he boldly and gently attends to his beloved sheep.
